18-year-old arrested for trespassing after “romantic rendezvous” at GHS

Staff report

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Jameiris Coffee, 18, was arrested yesterday after allegedly crawling under a fence onto the property of Gainesville High School for a “romantic rendezvous” with a female student.

A Gainesville Police Department officer reported that at about 2:06 p.m. on September 25, Coffee “bypassed school security measures and entered the campus by crawling underneath the perimeter fence in a wooded area.” Coffee is a former GHS student who currently attends Siatech Mycroschool, according to the arrest report.

Post Miranda, Coffee reportedly said an unknown female student asked him to meet her in the east Building 25 stairwell, “where they proceeded to have a romantic rendezvous.” Coffee reportedly said he had crawled through a hole under the fence, but he knew he would not have been allowed to enter the school through the main entrance.
