32-year-old woman killed in traffic crash

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – A 32-year-old woman was killed early Tuesday morning in a crash with a semi at the intersection of NE 15th Street and NE 53rd Avenue.
At about 2:57 a.m. on Tuesday, September 8, Gainesville Police Department officers responded to a traffic crash involving an SUV and a tractor-trailer at the intersection of NE 15th Street and NE 53rd Avenue.
Based on witness accounts, the SUV was traveling north on NE 15th Street when it collided with the side of the tractor-trailer, which was traveling on NE 53rd Avenue.

The 32-year-old female driver of the SUV was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.

As a rule, that intersection has had a low vehicle crash history. Might of been the SUV failed to yield the right of way to the semi, thus the causing the unfortunate accident.
