Alachua County Public Schools will host job fair for teachers on April 8

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Alachua County Public Schools is hosting a job fair for prospective teachers on Saturday, April 8, and district contracts will be offered to qualified candidates on the spot. The district is recruiting teachers for all grade levels and subjects.Â
The fair will be held Saturday, April 8, from 9 a.m. to noon at Gainesville High School, which is located at 1900 NW 13th Street. Walk-ups are welcome.
Principals from ACPS schools will be on hand to interview teacher candidates. Information about benefits will also be provided. Those benefits include high-quality health insurance that’s paid for by the district for most individual employees, higher pay for previous teaching experience, advanced degrees and other factors, mentoring for new teachers, and other supports and incentives.
Would be a great job if I wouldn’t have to spend half the class on student discipline. Besides, although I have a doctorate degree, and can (and have) taught at the college level as an adjunct professor, I must get “state-certification” first to teach K-12, no doubt chock full of woke nonsense…no thanks.
