April 26 County Commission Regular Meeting

The Alachua County Commission will conduct its Regular Meeting on Tuesday, April 26, 2022, at the Alachua County Administration Building (12 S.E. 1st Street, Gainesville). The daytime meeting begins at 11:30 a.m. The evening meeting begins at 5 p.m.
Masks are strongly encouraged when social distancing is not possible. The public may view the meeting on Cox Channel 12 and the County’s Video on Demand website.
Public comment will be taken for each agenda item and the public will also have an opportunity to speak about items not on the agenda at noon and 5:30 p.m. Members of the public who wish to speak are asked to limit their comments to three minutes.
Daytime items of interest:
- Approval of a Proclamation declaring May 1 through May 7, 2022, as “Corrections/Detention Employees Appreciation Week” in Alachua County, Florida
- Appointment of five Citizens at Large to the County Historical Commission
- Alachua County Water Conservation Program
- Revised precinct boundaries, presented by Supervisor of Elections Kim Barton
- Discussion on options for overnight accommodation related to agritourism or bona fide agricultural uses.
- ZOM-04-22: A public hearing to consider a request to rezone a 1.02 acre parcel (parcel # 04344-007-002) from the BR (Business, Retail Sales and Services) and BW (Wholesale and Warehousing) zoning districts to the BH (Highway Oriented Business). (Quasi-judicial)
- Public Hearing for Domestic Violence Protections Ordinance

- Continuation of the 12/14/21 BoCC meeting for ZOX-03-21: Duke Energy Special Exception Request for a Major Utility to allow a Telecommunications Facility at an Existing Substation.
