ASO seeks suspect in Hawthorne shooting

HAWTHORNE, Fla. – In the late afternoon of Monday, August 24, multiple Alachua County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a report that a person was shot in the 6000 block of SE 225th Street.

Once on scene, deputies located an adult male suffering a single gunshot wound. Deputies provided immediate medical aid, prior to the arrival of emergency medical personnel. Upon the arrival of Alachua County Fire Rescue, the victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators were summoned to the scene to investigate the circumstances that led up to this incident. The investigation into this incident is still very active and ongoing.
