Body found near Lake Alice boat ramp
Press release from University of Florida Police Department
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The University of Florida Police Department Criminal Investigations Division (UFPD CID) is currently investigating the death of an individual who was found in the wooded area near the Lake Alice boat ramp.
At approximately 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, December 18, 2022, the University of Florida Police Department was notified that there was an individual in the wooded area of 2600 Memorial Rd that appeared to be deceased. Upon arrival, officers and EMS personnel determined the individual was deceased.
The identity of the individual involved has not been released pending notification of the next of kin. UFPD is in the process of notifying the next of kin. The individual does not affiliate to UF. Though foul play is not suspected at this time, this is an ongoing death investigation.
Didn’t know that Lake Alice has a boat ramp, or that UF has a “Memorial Road.” Although the “individual does not affilitate to UF,” the UF President will probably announce that the individual became deceased on account of excessive happiness to be near UF. The lesson will be to curb one’s UF enthusiasm.
Holidays, healthcare facility nearby … could be anything. Sad.

Probably a Suicide. Maybe/hopefully the Gator’s football coach.
Who writes this?
An FSU fan.
Wow!!! What a horrible thing to say! I literally have no other words to say but how sad reading this heartless comment.
That comment is absolutely sick and uncalled for! I certainly hope you never have to experience the loss of someone due to suicide!
Shame on you. Quit being mean or I’m going to tell your mama.
Between all of the shootings and crashes, dead bodies showing up, perhaps an eager entrepreneur would be wise to enter the undertaking/funeral business.
Boat ramp?
Yep. Memorial Road is on the south side of Lake Alice. There is a small boat ramp used by UF personnel across from the Dept of Microbiology
The boat ramp is in the Lake Alice conservation area on memorial road located on the south side of the Lake.
Is there any other boat ramps at lake Alice? I have never been
