Brothers arrested after stabbing incident near Mebane Middle School
Staff report
The charges against Foye were dropped on September 22, and he has been released from the jail.
ALACHUA, Fla. – Jahiem Darnathan Foye, 23, and Trevian Semaj Towns, 19, were arrested yesterday after a stabbing incident that led officials to place Mebane Middle School in a secure status until officers determined there was no threat to the school.
At about 1:02 p.m. on September 10, Alachua Police Department officers responded to a report of a stabbing in the 14000 block of NW 167th Place and found Foye outside the home, covered in blood; he also had a towel covering his forearm that was soaked in blood. When an officer asked Foye what had happened, he stated spontaneously that he had cut his arm and finger while trying to stab his brother, Towns. The officer immediately read Foye his Miranda warning, and post Miranda, Foye reportedly said he did not want to say anything further.
Officers reportedly found two blood-covered knives on the ground near the home.
The brothers’ 67-year-old grandmother reportedly told an officer that Foye and Towns had argued, and when Foye went outside, Towns locked him out of the home; she said she unlocked the door, and Towns locked it again. She said she unlocked the door again and propped it open with a brick, and Towns removed the brick; when she tried to put it back, Towns allegedly pushed her to the ground, which upset Foye to the point that he allegedly grabbed the knives and stabbed Towns in the hand.
Towns reportedly retreated to his bedroom and locked the door out of fear that Foye would stab him again; Foye allegedly stabbed at the door and stabbed his own forearm and finger at some point during the incident.
Foye, a registered sexual offender, has been charged with aggravated battery causing bodily harm and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He has 12 felony convictions (11 sexual offenses related to child pornography), served a 43.2-month state prison sentence, and was released in April 2025. Judge Mitchell Bishop set bail at $150,000 on the new charges.
Towns has been charged with battery on a person over the age of 65. He has a juvenile history from 2018 to 2024. In April 2026, a sworn complaint was filed, alleging that he took $7,000 from under a mattress in a hotel room while working as a housekeeper at the hotel; the sworn complaint states that he denied taking the money, although his pockets were bulging, and when law enforcement was mentioned, he left his work badge and key behind and ran. That case was later dropped. Judge Bishop set bail at $2,500 on the new charge.
Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

They’re just misunderstood. (Sarcasm)
What a pair of failures. They don’t deserve the air they breathe.
