City of Alachua to host Local Government Day services
Press release from City of Alachua
On Thursday, June 16, residents will be able to access Alachua County Supervisor of Elections, Tax Collector, Property Appraiser, and Florida Fish and Wildlife services at City Hall in the City of Alachua.
The addition of these services is part of an ongoing effort by the Alachua City Commission to provide enhanced access to County services in-person in the City of Alachua, which stems from a high-priority initiative in the City’s Strategic Plan.
Supervisor of Elections services provided at this event will include assistance with new voter registration, voter registration updates, vote-by-mail requests, elections information dissemination, and election worker recruitment.
Tax Collector services at this event will include assistance with property taxes, tangible property taxes, and tourist development taxes (Airbnb/short-term rentals).
Property Appraiser services at this event will include assistance with homestead applications as well as educational handouts.
Florida Fish and Wildlife services provided at this event will include educational materials and discussion for both Florida fishing and waterways.
This one-day event is also for other County residents outside of the City of Alachua who may find this location more convenient.
The event will take place on Thursday, June 16, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., at the City Hall at 15100 NW 142nd Terrace, Alachua, FL 32615.
“We are proud to provide additional in-person County services access to our community,” Alachua Mayor Gib Coerper said. “We’ve added even more services to the list than in previous years. It not only makes doing County business more convenient for our residents, but also for the rest of the folks in the northwest portion of our County.”
