Come on down!

BY JAKE FULLER

    • As the back-Ward Mayor of this sh*tty, I mean city, I will continue to throw my full weight behind the Grace Marketplace. I will make sure that me and the commissioners that work for me, keep funding Grace, aka party-ville. I will make sure we have the funding proceeds necessary by continuing to escalate taxes and fees that we charge our citizens. You Gainesville citizens, or as I like to call you, “commoners”, just wait for your property tax bills that come this year.

  • THAT’S WHAT I’M TALKING ABOUT!

City and County Commissioners have been hiding that sign from the taxpaying residents long enough. I’m glad that through the hard work and diligence of Jake and the Alachua Chronicle staff it can finally be revealed.

    Thanks for shining the light!

  • Grave marketplace literally has a third world country or prison vibe… prayers for those lost souls.

  • As always Jake hits a home run! The call load that place generates is astounding.
Violence of every kind. Glad I left Hoggtown for more peaceful pastures. Get out folks if you can.

  • County Commission recently agreed to purchase a St Francis House property for another vacancy sign.
Maybe if they could focus more on the true residents’ concerns instead of purchasing real estate they could actually get something accomplished and stop free spending our tax dollars for people who don’t pay any.

How long will it take local voters to figure out the Commission doesn’t care about them?

  • Move it to Newberry, or at least let the state appoint an authority to run it.

    • Good idea! Probably be run more effectively and efficiently. Better yet, those who didn’t pay their “fair” share could be evicted and sent to your house or at least commissioners’ homes. I’m pretty confident all of you have the space and willingness – unless you’re all hypocrites.

      • You apparently think jail cells are cheaper than tents in open fields, but you pay for this – like me – either way, and the law DeSantis just signed as well as legal precedent going back to the 80’s says we have no choice. You’re just another free loader wanna’ be looking for hand out.

        • Me, free-loader? LOL! I’m trying to stop the free-loading and free stuff for those who don’t want to work to earn anything. Nice try though.
On the other hand, you’re just like I described – another self righteous hypocrite. Personally I think they should issue citations to every single person who hands out food and the lazy bums don’t put the garbage in the trash cans. Notice I said to the people feeding the cats, not the cats. It’s not because they can’t, it’s because they don’t want to and don’t feel they have to. Those you support are just adding to the waste in the city.

          • “Personally I think they should issue citations..”

Read my lips dummy: courts and jail cells aren’t free and cost more than tents in fields.

            What is wrong with you?

          • Far less than the issues you have.
Issue a citation to the people feeding the cats. They don’t pay, suspend their license.

Something wrong with your comprehension too?
