COVID-19 Vaccination Event Information

Press release from Alachua County

The Florida Department of Health in Alachua County (DOH-Alachua) is holding two large-scale vaccination events this week. These events (and all COVID-19 vaccinations in Alachua County) are by invitation and appointment only. DOH-Alachua is contacting seniors, 65 and over from oldest to youngest, who have registered to schedule appointments at these events. Only those who receive an invitation can set up an appointment for these events (the invitation can’t be forwarded).

People who have been selected will be receiving a text message that reads as follow: “DOH Alachua: You have the opportunity for a COVID-19 vaccine this week. Click on the link to schedule your appointment” (link provided in the text).

Those who receive this text need to provide the same information from when they registered to continue. Those who registered with numbers that don’t allow texting will be called. If you’d like to update your registration and include multiple contact methods, we urge you to update your record by visiting alachua.floridahealth.gov/covid-19.

A confirmation email will be sent to each person that selects an appointment time with more information regarding the event. This includes the name of the building, address, type of vaccine, time, consent forms, and a handful of guidelines to follow. If you don’t receive a confirmation email, please check your spam/junk folder. Reminder notifications of appointments will be sent via text and/or email.

Those aged 65 or older who have not yet registered and would like to receive a COVID-19 vaccination can register online. For more information, visit alachua.floridahealth.gov/covid-19.
