Cox gives $1.1 million to local charities in 2022

Press release from Cox Communities

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Cox Communications has a long-standing tradition of supporting the communities it serves, and that was never more evident than in 2022. Last year, Cox gave $1,125,000 in cash and in-kind donations to Central Florida charities and non-profits with a primary focus on youth, education, diversity, and conservation initiatives.

“Giving back to the areas we serve, that’s the Cox culture and we’re proud to support our neighbors,” said Aimee Pfannenstiel, market vice president for Cox’s Central Florida market. “Not only does our company give much-needed funding to local non-profits, but our employees also donate much of their time and treasure to the Central Florida market. It really is part of our DNA to serve our community, and I couldn’t be prouder of our team.”

In addition to the annual corporate giving, Cox Charities, a grant program 100 percent funded by local Cox Central Florida employees, awarded approximately $6,500 to local non-profits and schools. In 2022, Central Florida employees awarded grants to Bread of the Mighty Food Bank, the Community Foundation of Marion, and Terwilliger Elementary School.

Along with the monetary support, employees served in leadership positions for 15 local nonprofit boards and volunteered over 600 hours to support community organizations.

The Cox Central Florida Market consists of portions of Alachua and Marion counties.
