Deputies and fire rescue personnel respond to plane crash near Micanopy

MICANOPY, Fla. – Deputies from both the Alachua County and Marion County Sheriff’s Offices, along with fire rescue personnel from both counties, are at the scene of a single-engine plane crash in an area west of I-75 in Micanopy.

Deputies have located the crash location and have determined that both occupants are safe and not injured. Deputies are working to get both occupants out of the marsh area and onto dry land to be evaluated by EMS.
