Capital City Bank – you seriously need to be audited and questioned as to how you let her do it.This was way too easy and your internal controls are going to be remembered……Just an observation -she goes to teller A and withraws money that in itself is nothing unusual. But then she goes to your Capitol City Bank at a different location and pulls money from the SAME account that day (all withdrawls are right there on the screen regardless of the branch!!!) and the 2nd Capital City Bank didn’t see that as unusual? Really?…then she goes to Capital City Bank #3 (still same bank – different branch) and does a THIRD transaction from the same account and you folks at Capitol Bank didn’t raise the eyebrows even a ittle bit??? What is the hell is going on in these Bubbaville towns??? Thank God I deal with a quality credit union here in Gainesville. This should never have happened.I’d look carefully at the 3 tellers FDLE. Something smells real bad here.
Depends if she used a stolen id or not. If she did use stolen ID, you can’t really blame the tellers…the bank’s core computer system should have flagged three separate cash withdrawals from three different branches though. She obviously structured the cash withdrawals to keep them under $10k each since that would not trigger a mandatory currency transaction report.
And all same day transactions may not immediately appear on the screen in detail. This also depends on the core processing system and accounting procedures used. The available balance will always be accurate but the actual posted transactions may take a bit to post depending on how they run batches.
My point is don’t blame hourly employees for a corporate problem. (And maybe someone was crooked…we shall see?)
And CU’s are equally as horrible…i used to work in this area years ago
Absolutely NO reason why tellers do not have biometric fingerprint scans, utterly ridiculous
Sarah Rockwell’s second job?? She thought to herself: ‘Maybe they will not recognize me without my mask on’.
Our State leader’s primary job? Taking other people’s money, taxpayer’s no less, is okay right
In the report, the grand jurors also wrote that they found that the Florida attorney general, James Uthmeier, who was DeSantis’s chief of staff at the time and is currently running for election for a full four-year term, was in a “position of authority over those involved in settling with Centene” and that testimony identified him as “having involvement in directing the money after it went to Hopе Florida”.
The grand jurors wrote that no witness admitted or identified who directed the money to go to Hope Florida and noted that testimony also revealed that Uthmeier’s political action committee, Keep Florida Clean, was the “prime recipient of the majority” of the $10m.
The jurors also noted that the office of Ashley Moody, then Florida’s attorney general who is currently serving her second year in the Senate and is up for re-election, knew of the payment, and that her chief deputy signed the agreement “without conducting his due diligence to ensure the proper appropriation of taxpayer funds”.
