Fall is fresh at the Alachua County Farmers Market
Press release from the Alachua County Farmers Market
ALACHUA, Fla. – Fall brings cooler weather—and an even greater variety of fresh, locally grown produce—to the Alachua County Farmers Market!
The Alachua County Farmers Market, located at 13900 Tech City Cir in Alachua, is the area’s oldest operating farmers market. For more than 50 years, the market has supported local growers and connected the community with fresh food produced close to home.
As Florida’s summer heat gives way to cooler temperatures, the variety of locally grown produce expands. Shoppers can look forward to freshly harvested peppers and tomatoes, radishes, lettuce, broccoli, beans, chard, spinach and other greens, fruits, and much more throughout the fall and into winter.
Grown Here. Sold Here.
The Alachua County Farmers Market is a GROWERS-ONLY market, meaning the produce sold at the market is locally grown by the vendors who bring it to market.
For shoppers, that means fresher food, a closer connection to the people who grow it, and dollars that stay within the local community. Supporting local agriculture and building community have always been at the heart of ACFM’s mission.
And there’s much more than produce.
Shoppers can also find locally produced dairy products, eggs, meats, edible and ornamental plants, nuts, honey, and more. Farms are visited by the Market Board and/or Market Manager to help ensure that the agricultural products offered on Saturdays are produced in the area.
Visitors will also find baked goods, handcrafted soaps, jams and jellies, prepared foods and beverages from food trucks, plus the work of local artisans and artists who make ACFM part of their Saturday routine.
So this fall, come for the fresh produce—and discover everything else your local farmers market has to offer!
