Firefighters respond to vehicle fire at residence
May 6, 2025

Staff report from Alachua County Fire Rescue social media post
ALACHUA COUNTY, Fla. – On the evening of May 5, units from Alachua County Fire Rescue, High Springs Fire Department, and Lacrosse Fire Department responded to a vehicle fire in the driveway of a home north of the intersection of NW 156th Avenue and NW 92nd Terrace.
Crews found the flames rapidly spreading from the vehicle to the house and swiftly contained the fire to prevent further damage to the house and surrounding properties.

With the current protests and violence against certain vehicles (Tesla) it would be nice to know what type of vehicle this was and if that domestic terrorism and hate crime was involved here, or just a car that started on fire.
The battery packs in EV’s are a chemical explosion just waiting to happen. This issue predates 2025 by many years.
People on the right are screaming hate crime and terrorism just like the lefties do. TV spins y’all up way too much. Anyone who espouses the hate crime and domestic terrorist monikers are just screaming for more government control. A crime is a crime.
I do agree with the fact that the make & model is never reported by fire depts. I also think that info would be very beneficial to know, but for different reasons. I’m worried about the unstable battery packs… not rouge overly political a$$holes in Portland
Rogue = scoundrel
Rouge = refers to a red color, typically in the context of cosmetics.
Grammer and spelling people!
Grammar. You’re welcome.
Other non-EVs have similar issue due to EPA regs forcing increased mpg.
It’d help if we knew the make and model. Some cars spontaneously combust and some are being recalled already. Others not yet 😳😳
dumping water on a lithium fire is literally like pouring gas on a normal fire. Fire crews need to be trained on battery fires better since they’re everywhere now
Spraying the surrounding structures makes sense but water CAUSES the lithium to go up ie the battery ruptures and the humidity causes the burn/explosion process
