Gainesville man arrested for indecent exposure at Park Avenue apartment complex

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Ethan William Anglin, 22, was arrested last night and charged with indecent exposure, loitering/prowling, and drug possession after several residents of Park Avenue Apartments (3800 NW 79th Terrace) reported that he had pulled down his pants after following them to their apartments.

The first victim told a responding Alachua County Sheriff’s Deputy that she was unloading groceries outside her apartment at about 8:22 p.m. on March 13 when she saw a man wearing black gym shorts and a black jacket walking in the complex. She said the man, later identified as Anglin, stood in the parking lot, watching her, and then followed her to the front door of her apartment, where he walked within a few feet of her and then walked past her and pulled down his gym shorts, showing her his buttocks; she said he smiled at her and walked away.

The deputy reported that he encountered Anglin walking in the complex and followed him as he walked up to the second story of a building; the deputy asked Anglin if he was staying at the complex, and Angling reportedly said, “No.” The deputy took Anglin back to his patrol car, where, post Miranda, Anglin reportedly declined to answer any questions.

A search incident to arrest reportedly produced 22 clonazepam pills in a bottle with no label.

A second victim reportedly told the deputy that she was walking her dog near the pool of Park Avenue Apartments at about 8:20 p.m., and after she walked by Anglin, he followed her back to her apartment door. She said that when they arrived at her apartment door, Anglin pulled down his pants and showed her his buttocks while smiling at her.

A relative of the second victim took a second dog for a walk a few minutes later and reported that Anglin was standing across the parking lot, staring at her. She said that when they made eye contact, he walked toward her, staring at her; she said she pointed a set of keys at him, and he walked away from her.

The deputy reported that after reading Anglin his Miranda rights, he attempted to speak with him so Anglin could explain why he was walking around the apartment complex, but Anglin did not want to speak to him. Anglin’s listed address is at the nearby Crossing at Santa Fe apartment complex.

Anglin has been charged with two counts of indecent exposure, loitering/prowling, and possession of a controlled substance. He has no local criminal history other than traffic stops in 2022 and in September 2024. Judge Susan Miller-Jones set bail at $70,000.
