Gainesville man arrested for pointing gun at two victims at Cabana Beach Apartments
Staff report
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Naytrellis Naytravone Enoch, 33, was arrested last night after a multi-hour stand-off and charged with pointing a gun at two victims at Cabana Beach Apartments.
At about 2:29 p.m. on July 10, Gainesville Police Department officers responded to Cabana Beach Apartments (1605 SW 47th Terrace), where the first victim said he argued with an unknown black man and the man walked toward him, took a pistol from his waistband, and pointed it at him.
A witness saw the incident and called 911. The first victim reportedly drew his own pistol, which he legally carried, and the man ran to a nearby building where he allegedly pulled out his gun again and pointed it a second time at the first victim. The first victim reportedly drew his own gun again.
A second witness reportedly saw this and came outside to try to de-escalate the situation, and the unknown man, later identified as Enoch, walked away from the area, followed by the first victim, who directed officers to the man’s location.
Officers reportedly found Enoch in the pool area, wearing a yellow face covering and black clothing and carrying a blue drawstring bag and a “Hello Kitty” backpack.
Enoch allegedly fled when he saw the officers, ignoring verbal commands to stop, and officers reportedly saw him holding a gun.
Officers lost sight of Enoch, but a second victim reported that a man had approached him, pointed a gun at him, and said something about being set up. The victim said he was in fear for his life.
A third witness said Enoch had entered the breezeway of building 1600, and officers eventually determined that he was inside a specific apartment. They made announcements, ordering him to come out, for about four and a half hours before he surrendered at about 7 p.m. and was arrested.
Post Miranda, Enoch reportedly said he had gotten into an argument with the first victim but denied brandishing a weapon; he reportedly said he had confronted the second victim because he thought he was going to hit him with a chainsaw. He reportedly said the first victim attacked him but could not explain why he had not called law enforcement, why he didn’t stop when law enforcement arrived, or why he had hidden in the apartment for hours.
Enoch has been charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and resisting an officer without violence. He has one felony conviction (violent) and one misdemeanor conviction (non-violent). Judge Denise Ferrero ordered him held without bail pending a hearing on a motion from the State Attorney’s office to hold him without bail until trial; if the judge denies the motion, bail will be set at that hearing.
Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

This is ridiculous, that complex has gone down hill for a long time, it seemed promising at first. Please develop a nuisance abatement board & review this area.
They keep hiding their bail schemes, so they can keep grooming repeat offenders in secret.
And why hasn’t Collier changed the name of Cabana yet? On the sign please add “now accepting Section 8 and Prisoner Release Vouchers” too, by order of the ACLUSPLCDNC 👺🤡💩👿👹
Evidence base proves more ethnicity of Caucasian are on section 8, than African American. FYI!
Your comment is a perfect example of why “per capita” and actual statistics are incomprehensible to the 13%
You clearly don’t understand maths.
@ “Concern” Citizen: FYI Caucasians are 70% of the population, African Americans are 13% yet they both get almost equal government assistance.
There is a lot of that on 24th and also Tower Road.
I wonder if Eastern ethnicities are offended since he was wearing yellow face?
If not, it’s becoming easier to understand why some groups get triggered more than others.
They may want to look in the mirror to identify their issues.
What about people who are offended by orange faces?
1st name has 4 vowels that’s 2 more then the acceptable amount for a normal person.
Mugshot indicates a contrite individual who is truly sorry for his behavior? NOT!!!
Section 8 equals ‘affordable’ criminal housing. Convicted felons are supposed to be ineligible for section 8 but the criminal boyfriends stay with the baby mammas who don’t have a felony conviction
The article says he was legally carrying a gun, but he’s a convicted felon. He also wasn’t charged with that crime. Why?
