GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Dexter Hall, 36, was arrested last night after his girlfriend was stabbed at the Wawa at Celebration Pointe.
At about 4 a.m. Thursday morning, Alachua County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a report that a woman had been stabbed at the Wawa on SW Archer Road. Upon arrival, they found a woman with over 20 stab wounds on her legs, arms, and torso. She reportedly identified her attacker as Hall, her boyfriend of 3 years.
Security video reportedly showed a Ford Fusion pulling into a parking spot at the Wawa. The video, which is motion-activated, starts again about 20 minutes later and shows the woman on the ground next to the car; the car then leaves. Witnesses who saw the woman called 911, and the woman was transported to UF Health Shands under a trauma alert.
Hall was previously arrested in February of 2022 and charged with domestic battery on the same victim, but the charge was dropped at the end of March. He has three misdemeanor convictions but no other criminal history. The arrest report notes that he and the victim were living in the car, which is a rental.
Hall was arrested at Shands last night; he has been charged with attempted second degree murder and is being held on $500,000 bail.
