Gainesville man arrested for threatening to kill woman

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Michael Lorina Harrison, 19, was arrested yesterday afternoon and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after allegedly displaying a gun and threatening to kill a woman.

The woman told an Alachua County Sheriff’s Deputy that she went to Harrison’s apartment in Majestic Oaks to pick up their child and take him to an event in the same complex. She said Harrison initially slammed the door when he saw her but then came back out and gave her the child; Harrison then allegedly followed her, calling her names, and told her he would kill her. He allegedly pulled up his shirt, displaying a handgun tucked into his waistband.

A bystander reportedly told the deputy that he heard Harrison threatening to kill the woman and that he saw Harrison handling the weapon carelessly and waving it around in the parking lot. Other bystanders reportedly told deputies that they saw Harrison with a gun.

Deputies later arrested Harrison at his apartment. Post Miranda, he reportedly said he never had a gun and there was no argument. Both residents of the apartment gave consent to a search, and a black BB gun that resembled a semi-automatic handgun was reportedly found.

Harrison has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill. He has a juvenile criminal history between 2019 and 2021; Judge Thomas Jaworski set bail at $20,000.

Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

  • He’s no James Bond seeing as how it was “without intent to kill.”

Hopefully he’ll learn his lesson and keep everything in his pants. Last thing we need are more kids growing up without parents providing the discipline they need.

  • I’m surprised that there are that many snitches In Majestic Oaks Apts. Usually the hood don’t talk to the police. Wow.
