Gainesville woman accused of stabbing estranged husband
Staff report
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Frances Marie Scott, 42, was arrested early yesterday morning and charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon after allegedly stabbing her estranged husband.
At about 12:31 a.m. on April 23, a Gainesville Police Department officer responded to a home where the victim had been visiting and was told that Scott had arrived “totally uninvited” and wanted to talk to the victim. The victim said he walked back to her vehicle with her but told her he didn’t want to leave with her. The victim said Scott was sitting inside the car, with the door closed but the window open, while they were speaking, and Scott suddenly stabbed his arm with a steak knife. The victim said Scott got out of the vehicle and cut him again on his arm, leading to a physical struggle; the victim said he managed to flip Scott over and restrain her until the officer arrived.
Another occupant of the home told the officer that she heard dogs barking, went outside, and heard the victim yelling, “Stop!” She said he had his hand up in a defensive posture, and his arm was bleeding. She ran back inside to get her phone and call 911.
Another occupant of the home saw the first witness run inside with blood on her, saying, “She cut him.” Both witnesses went back outside and later told the officer that they saw the victim walking away from Scott with his hand up; they said Scott was pursuing him and started punching him, then she pulled his hair, and he hit her to defend himself. They said the victim pinned Scott to the ground until the officer arrived.
A witness in Scott’s vehicle reportedly said Scott had gotten out of the vehicle holding a steak knife and chased the victim. That witness said she tried to stop the fight and eventually took the knife from Scott and put it in the vehicle.
Post Miranda, Scott reportedly said she cut the victim because the victim came to the vehicle to hit her.
A steak knife with blood on the blade was reportedly found on the floorboard of the vehicle, and Scott’s blood-stained shirt was reportedly found on the ground near the vehicle.
The victim was transported to an emergency room with non-life-threatening injuries.
Scott has no criminal convictions. Judge Thomas Jaworski set bail at $2,000.

I just gagged on my tea. A $2,000. bond for stabbing someone & assaulting them. What is missing beyond a lick of sense? Enough is enough, unacceptable. If she hit a main artery & he bled out right away would it be different? You can’t predict how much harm she intended. You should charge up & plea later.
She has no history and he was probably beating on her. Don’t know the story but she has no history
He wasn’t beating on her. She’s just crazy and she had the intention on stabbing or killing him. She shouldn’t have a bail. She should’ve been charged attempted murder.
So your saying just because she has no criminal history she is not at fault ? The real question if he was beating her why would she come from her residence to his during a that hour of the night and if he was beating on her don’t you think it would be a paper trail about the two if a woman is scared she would stay away apparently her actions shows she is the aggressive one and just from this you can pretty much can see how there relationship was in the same house hold division.just this time she got caught so please analyze the situation before stating actual facts this is someone life his life could of been taken so once again in the hands of someone who has no criminal history I guess that makes it ok?
You are so rite they should not have let her out. What if she do it again but this time kill him.
The same judge let a woman out ROR for trying to run over a kid on a bicycle with her car.
Clown town: for real! That woman who tried to run the kid over on the bike needs to be disciplined!
Thank your local liberal panty wearing judges, $200 and she’s back out and free to stab somebody else.
Don’t worry it was just the bail amount that is crazy. She will be convicted and she will lost her job and that free living because of this felony charge ,so either way she will pay.
It’ll be pleaded down to a misdemeanor, she’ll be given probation, which she’ll probably violate. Who said she had a job?
This woman should be off the streets and in a jail cell
Anyone initiated in fraternal orders or secret societies need to get out of public service. This includes Nights of Columbus (Mr Jaworski) and Freemasons (need I say anything more). Thank God he has already announced his retirement.
She looks like a very nice lady I don’t know why her husband would have left her.
She is crazy, and the fact that she went over there with a knife, say that she is planning what happened. She planned to harm him or kill him and who knows she may try and finish the job she started
$2,000 bail on an aggravated battery with witnesses? I guess he is replacing violence encourager, the late Walter Green.
I know them both, she crazy! This sad on both ends. Women’s can be the aggressive one. Justice Need To Be Served.
Tommy Boy is retiring soon. He probably has the Biden disease
Her and her kids crazy af!! 🤦🏽♀️😭
She just as crazy as that woman who tried to run the kid over on his bicycle and was ROR’d! Justice needs to be served on both these crazies!
