Governor declares statewide state of emergency for Tropical Storm Ian

Press release from the Office of Governor Ron DeSantis

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Today, Governor Ron DeSantis issued Executive Order 22-219 (Amending Executive Order 22-218, Emergency Management – Tropical Depression Nine), expanding the state of emergency statewide.

On September 23, 2022, Tropical Depression Nine strengthened into Tropical Storm Ian, with maximum sustained winds of 40 miles per hour. The threat posed by Tropical Storm Ian requires that timely precautions are taken to protect the communities, infrastructure, and general welfare of Florida.

A copy of Executive order 22-219 can be found here.

  • Poe had better hurry up and get all the homeless set up in hotel rooms. And get them some proper hurricane party supplies so that they don’t feel stigmatized.

      • Yes, but NOT Ward.

Out with ALL the old and in with the new.

Belarsky has much more business sense and is a better candidate.

    • With our tax $$$$$$$$, I think this should be on a donation only process. Let’s see how well the demonrats perform then.

    • Winds are expected to go from 40 to 140 mph over the next 48 to 60 hours. As far as the emergency order, it prevents price gouging, among other things. The track is still fairly uncertain at this point (most of the state has the potential to be affected, possibly). People in Tampa are probably most at risk based on the current forecasts and models.
