GPD offers recruitment incentives

Press release from Gainesville Police Department
The Gainesville Police Department (GPD) is excited to announce some new financial incentives for those considering a career in law enforcement with GPD.
With a 3-year commitment, non-certified and certified police officers, depending on years of experience, will be offered $8,000-$11,000 in bonuses. Additionally, relocation assistance of $2,000 is available for those moving from out of state.
For more information, or if you are interested in applying, please contact GPD Officer Amanda Rodonis in our Recruiting Office at 352-393-7533 or gpdrecruiter@cityofgainesville.org. You can also visit our website at: http://www.gainesvillepd.org/Join-Our-Team/Sworn-Opportunities.
Incentive or bribe? There were a number of fantastic law enforcement officers who were employed by the City of Gainesville already. Unfortunately the city tuned their backs on those and will probably do the same for any new hires.
If there are some who take them on their offer, they better get the money in cash at signing. Given how the City Hall liars treated city employees during the Covid vaccinations, new hires probably won’t see anything for months if at all.
