GPD rescinds policy allowing trans-identifying officers to search detainees ‘with the same gender expression’

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The City of Gainesville has notified Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier that it has rescinded its policy that searches “should be conducted by an officer with the same gender expression or identity” as the individual being searched.
On July 30, Uthmeier gave the City until August 15 to confirm that the policy had been rescinded. In his letter, he wrote, “[The search policy] imposes an unsafe and illogical requirement for female officers to search males who identify as female yet who possess the strength, size, and anatomy of a male. Searches of females by male officers who identify as female create parallel safety, privacy, and dignity concerns for female detainees.”
Excellent! If those people don’t know what gender they are, they have no business being in a position that has the authority to issue a citation for running a red light—the light may have identified as a green light.
Excellent idea. I do believe my house identifies as a parrot, so why can’t I stop paying property taxes right now?
That’s confusing to say the least!
Was Gainesville the only place in the state with such a rule? Did anyone in the public even know about this absurdity?

Seems the Commissioners always go against what our Governor wants. We have a bunch of foxes running the henhouse. What they come up with in this city has people always shaking their heads.
“Gender Expression”? Really? Would these poorly educated politicians please tell us what that even means? People are either male, female or mutilated. What they do in private or in bed is up to them, but in an official government job, they are M or F, as born. Period.
How can so called ‘educated’ people come up with this stupidity?

I can venture a guess at which warped department at city hall came up with this foolishness.
Department of doing maybe? Warm & fuzzy overpaid and under educated dead weight on the 2nd floor?
For those who actually pay attention to matters such as this, law enforcement is not a social experiment.
That department is (blanked up enuff) as it is. No need to make it worse. Meditate on that for a moment.

I think the city’s HR department needs to stage an intervention for these guys–they are addicted to losing!
