Hippodrome Theatre announces its 52nd Season: IGNITE

Press release from Hippodrome Theatre
GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Igniting the night with stories – that is the Hippodrome’s 52nd Season. We are proud to bring to our community a season full of passion, joy, curiosity, challenge, and change.
We will challenge the status quo in the perfectly balanced sitcom-esq Perfect Arrangement, and take a deep and passionate dive into the document that founded our nation in What The Constitution Means To Me. We will look for joy through the little things in our lives in Every Brilliant Thing, and two-step the night away with those fabulous gals from the Honky Tonk Angels Holiday Spectacular. No holiday would be complete without our traditional journey with Scrooge in A Christmas Carol, and we will explore art, mayhem, and tricky family dynamics in the brand new comedy out of Miami, Laughs in Spanish. In the spring, straight from New York and in one of the most produced shows in regional theater this year, we will find our passion with the characters in Clyde’s as they search for the perfect sandwich through this raucous and startling comedy. And as always, we will reveal our Summer Musical later in the season, one that will be sure to take you on a joyous ride.
For its 52nd Season, The Hippodrome is bringing even more exciting experiences to you. Prepare for the return of Hipp Unplugged, showcasing four challenging and thoughtful scripts alongside our 5th annual New Works Festival. Back by popular demand are Scene Queens, our spectacular drag and burlesque showcase, and the Basement Sessions, spotlighting the best local emerging musicians.
Enhancing the excitement this year is our latest addition: Hipp Spotlight Cabaret, hosted in our basement venue, complete with a stylish bar and an intimate setting where talented singers and storytellers take you on a captivating musical ride. But that’s not all – make sure to catch our latest addition, the Underground Comedy Series, showcasing area stand-up comedians and improv groups. Keep an eye out for more details coming your way soon!
For the 52nd Season, we invite you to join us in this celebration of storytelling. Come, gather ’round the fire of creativity, and let us share our stories, our dreams, and our humanity.
