GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Jonathan Dow, 33, was arrested yesterday for scooter theft and indecent exposure. He is out on pre-trial release for a previous indecent exposure charge and for driving without a valid license.
A Gainesville Police Department officer responded to a report from a runner on September 11 about a man sitting beside the Hawthorne Trail, masturbating with his pants open. The officer conducted a photo line-up with the victim, and she immediately identified Dow as the suspect.
The same officer responded to a call on September 18 about a suspicious person on a scooter on the Hawthorne Trail. The officer saw Dow on the scooter and learned that the scooter had been reported stolen.
Dow was previously arrested on July 22 for exposing himself on the Hawthorne Trail and was held on $10,000 bail, but he was released on his own recognizance after 40 days passed without formal charges being filed. Dow also has a pending criminal traffic charge for driving without a valid license.
Dow has an out-of-county record spanning 2005-2022, and he now has four cases pending in Alachua County. He is being held on $10,000 bail.
Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
