Homeless man arrested for indecent exposure
Staff report
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – George Thomas White, 47, was arrested yesterday for allegedly exposing himself behind a Midtown business.
At about 12:56 p.m. on September 27, a Gainesville Police Department officer responded to the 800 block of SW 2nd Avenue, where the employee of a business reported that she had seen a man actively and openly masturbating outside the business. The caller said she found White lying on the ground near the dumpster when she went to take out the trash, and his genitals were exposed.
The officer reported that White was the only person in the area, and he had some clothing items and a sleeping bag nearby.
Post Miranda, White reportedly said he had been there all day, and he admitted to masturbating and watching pornography.
White, whose address is listed as the former St. Francis House, has been charged with indecent exposure of sexual organs. His full criminal history is unavailable because those documents are not posted for sexual offenses, but he has no other local arrests; Judge George Wright set bail at $5,000.
Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

I’m having nightmares already looking at Woody the Pecker. This dude needs some serious intervention for the next couple years.
Why do Dems think letting these peeps run free helps our neighborly community? Do they think communist nations don’t have homeless, too? What do they do with them? Maybe we should do as commies do after all 🧐🤔🥺
“Ward said his daughter, a senior at UF, walks from campus to downtown for work, ‘and I am not saying that there are not dangers to be watched out for, but this is a city, it is an urban environment,… and it is important to be aware of your surroundings.'”
Nothing to see here … just part of the urban environment.
SteveH you hit the nail on the head. Excusing and allowing crime to fester in our city is 100% a choice of the local government. Mayor Ward is showing a pathetic lack of leadership for just shrugging his shoulders and saying “it’s a city” as if he is not personally responsible for attracting much of the criminal element to our town.
