Homeless man arrested for indecent exposure

Staff report

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Dillan W. Stephens, 28, has been charged with indecent exposure and lewd and lascivious exhibition after allegedly exposing himself twice in one day.

At about 6:38 p.m. on November 24, an employee of a business at the shopping center at 1459 NW 23rd Avenue saw a man standing outside with his pants down and touching himself. The employee told him to leave, and the man left.

However, the same man was seen at about 7:40 p.m. by a juvenile employee and her mother, who said the man pulled his pants down, made eye contact with them, and started touching himself.

The victims provided a description of the man, and a Gainesville Police Department officer made contact with Stephens nearby, noting that he was wearing the same clothes as the suspect. At least one victim positively identified Stephens as the man who had exposed himself.

Post Miranda, Stephens reported declined to answer any questions.

Stephens, whose address is listed as GRACE Marketplace, has been charged with lewd and lascivious exhibition and two counts of indecent exposure. He has no previous local criminal history, and Judge Meshon Rawls set bail at $4,000.

Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
