Homeless woman charged with stabbing man at GRACE Marketplace

Staff report

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Angela Marie Weiss, 48, was arrested early this morning for allegedly stabbing a man at GRACE Marketplace.

At about 5:07 a.m. on April 4, a Gainesville Police Department officer responded to GRACE Marketplace (3055 NE 28th Drive), where the victim said Weiss woke him up and wanted to have sex with him; however, while she was trying to have sex with him, she allegedly pulled out a knife and started stabbing him with it.

The victim said he ran from Weiss and she chased him to the front gate of the property, where he got away from her. The victim told the officer that Weiss had been angry with him earlier in the night because she believed he was leaving her to move into an apartment without her.

The officer reported that the victim had small lacerations to his arm and stomach, and his eye was red.

When the officer found Weiss, she reportedly took a pocket knife from her pocket and dropped it on the ground.

Post Miranda, Weiss reportedly said the victim tried to force her to give him oral sex and told her to turn over, so she took out a knife and tried to cut the victim’s penis off and then chased him to the front gate of the property. She reportedly said that she recently discovered that the victim was cheating on her with his “baby momma,” and she believed he was going to leave her to move in with the other woman.

Two witnesses reportedly saw Weiss chasing the victim while holding a knife in her hand; both witnesses said she kept asking, “Don’t you love me?” The witnesses said that during the chase, the victim tried to hide behind a truck, but Weiss stabbed the truck multiple times with the knife while yelling at the victim.

Weiss has been charged with domestic aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. She is from Wisconsin and has no local criminal history, but her full criminal history is not currently available, and bail has not been set yet.

Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

  • There you go guys. I’m pretty sure she’s single. From what the hell I just read she’s probably a “killer” lover ☠️☠️

  • Grace is place….for your helpful criminal friends. Now…our city commissioners are going to give us two more homeless shelters in the form of refurbished motels. This will be on 13th Street so as to provide as much criminal aberrant behaviors for those at UF, Shands, and the city. Enjoy your liberal utopia.

  • This reporting is very unprofessional and exploitative. It further stigmatizes and dehumanizes an already vulernable population (as evidenced by the comment section). This type of reporting would not be tolerated if the incident took place outside of Grace Marketplace.

    • Daniel, Excellent reporting by just stating facts you don’t want to acknowledge

    • What part of the article is untrue of tge conditions at Disgrace Market Place. The situation of housing mentally ill and criminals together under the conception of homelessness is a City of Gainesville and a Alachua County problem that both commissions refuse to address or admit too.

    • What do the comments have to do with the reporting? Nothing.

This looks very factual to me. Sorry not sorry you’re likely a liberal and are offended by the reality of Grace.

  • From Wisconsin….damn that homeless network spreads far and wide. Thanks gville for rolling out the red carpet 🙄

  • Why is it named Market Place? Does anyone know the actuality behind the name choice?

    • It’s intended to gather all the services for homeless people in one location.

  • is is a marketplace for sexual acts and quick, easy accessible drug solutions.
