Inmate convicted of murdering Christian Aguilar in 2012 dies in prison

OKEECHOBEE, Fla. – Convicted murderer Pedro Bravo died on March 12, 2025, while in the custody of the Florida Department of Corrections at Okeechobee Correctional Institution. An Alachua County Jury convicted Bravo of the 2012 murder of his friend Christian Aguilar. Our State Attorney Brian Kramer represented the State of Florida in the 2014 trial. Bravo was serving multiple life sentences for that killing and other crimes committed during the course of the murder.
Recently, Bravo filed a motion for post-conviction relief alleging both new evidence that purported to support Bravo’s theory of defense and a recantation by an inmate who had testified against Bravo during the trial. The Court ordered the State Attorney’s Office to respond to this motion, prompting an investigation into these claims. State Attorney Investigator Tom Mullins determined that probable cause existed to believe that Bravo had fabricated these claims in a coordinated effort with multiple individuals.
Recently, State Attorney Brian Kramer filed a multi-count Information charging Bravo with racketeering, conspiracy to commit perjury, perjury in a capital proceeding, and tampering with a witness in a capital proceeding. Michael Angelo and Kelcie Edwards are also charged in that case. Both Angelo and Edwards have been arrested on these charges. The Court had ordered that Bravo be returned to Alachua County to face these charges. Bravo was to appear in Court on March 23.
State Attorney Brian Kramer has notified the family of Christian Aguilar of Bravo’s death. Bravo’s death is under investigation by the Inspector General of the Florida Department of Corrections. The other defendants’ cases remain open, and those defendants are innocent until proven guilty.
Good riddance. He should have been dead a long time ago.

As a liberal I believe once someone is convicted or confesses to killing they should be walked out the front door of the court house to the gallows, no last meal just swing.
What was the point of charging him for these offenses? He was already serving a life sentence. Unless they were going to retry him for the death penalty, there’s really nothing further that the State could have done to him.

Can you not imagine the pain & torment continued against the family of the child poisoned, tortured & haphazardly buried to be found by hunters. Bravo would not even give the location where he was dumped. It is not about how much punishment to load unto Bravo. It is about his cruel lies & attempts to be released. May he never rest in peace.

Azucena Duque bravos mom and Kelcie Edwards (might be a relative or maid or something) paid Michael Angelo i think this is the same convict bravo was in jail with at the same time in AC to change his story. Looks like mom is going be arrested soon. I wonder what other family members are involved? So i guess Bravo learned his plan didn’t work and deiced to suicide himself in FLDOC since he just last his last chance to get out is gone and his mom is now going be arrested and whoever is involved. This is going be a good Dateline/48Hrs/2020 episode

So if Kelcie Edwards isn’t a relative and she’s the witness that supposedly saw Bravo not committing the crime. She has to be a friend of either Bravo or Angelo. I am thinking mom Duque and son bravo schemed and contacted Angelo to change his story now they need a witness to saw baby boy was doing something else instead of murder. Angelo is like I know this crack ho who was in Gainesville the same time she will say anything you want. perfect plan what could go wrong except all of our prison communications are recorded and monitored by FLDOC

WTF. how’s that possible who do you think was the money bags behind this whole scam? Who was going put money on Angelo’s books who was calling in him prison or he was calling to plan this out. and who was going pay Kelcie to say I remember seeing bravo 13yrs ago on NW 13st but I forgot to mention it when all this was in the news and on TV everywhere until mom’s money cured me from CRS (Can’t Remember Stuff). I say tell AC to charge Duque I am sure Angelo and Kelcie will turn on her and get who else is involved. I’ve done seen too many episodes of 48hrs,Dateline,2020 where no was little to no direct evidence against a relative all circumstantial and the prosecutor shouldn’t have win but once the jury thinks you’re guilty you done case closed.

I am sure moneybags mom ain’t directly putting money to FLDOC for Angelo it has to be someone already on his visitor list so that means mom and whoever else contact someone that knows Angelo and is on his visitor list or maybe Angelo contacts them 1st though whoever is on his visitor list and says have I got a deal you cant’ refuse for you and Babyboy bravo. I will change my story and all you need is witness that was in Gville in 2012 that will say they saw bravo anywhere but killing Aguilar and if you don’t know anybody that will do that i got a few names for you. So bottom line is the SAO should be charging mom too and not just these 2 clowns that are going take a plea deal anyways. Roll the dice and charge mom you got nothing to lose it looks better if you was to charge her and lose then if you never change her and you only go after the easy targets.
