Jim Douglas Sales & Service celebrates 100 years of family, friends, and community on Oct. 3
Press release from Jim Douglas Sales & Service
HIGH SPRINGS, Fla. — After a century of serving the High Springs community, Jim Douglas Sales & Service, formerly Jim Douglas Chevrolet, is inviting the public to celebrate a milestone few family businesses ever reach: 100 years in operation.
Back in 1926, founder Jim Douglas started a small family business built on hard work, determination, and a commitment to serving customers the right way. One hundred years later, the shop is still family-owned and operated, still serving generations of loyal customers, and still grateful for every person who has walked through its doors.
“In a small town, a business is about so much more than business — it’s about people,” said Jim Forrester of Jim Douglas Sales & Service. “It’s about knowing your customers by name, seeing familiar faces, sharing stories, lending a helping hand, and becoming part of each others’ lives through the years. Generations of families trusted us, supported us, and allowed us to continue the work our grandfather began. We don’t take that for granted. Our customers have truly become part of our family.”
To mark the occasion, Jim Douglas Sales & Service will host a community celebration open to customers, friends, family, neighbors, and everyone who has been part of the shop’s story.

“We hope you’ll come spend the afternoon with us,” Jim Forrester added. “After all, 100 years is something worth celebrating — and we want to celebrate it with you. From our family to yours, thank you for 100 years of friendship, loyalty, and support. We are honored to carry on the legacy our grandfather started in 1926. A hundred years ago, it was a family business. Today, it’s still a family business — because of all of you.”
