Lake City man arrested for burglarizing storage unit at Alachua storage facility

Staff report

ALACHUA, Fla. – Corey Mathew Parlow, 27, of Lake City, has been arrested for allegedly burglarizing at least one unit at an Alachua storage facility and attempting to sell a dishwasher, toolbox, and other items belonging to a victim.

The victim reported on August 4 that her lock had been removed from her storage unit at People’s Choice Storage (14709 NW 129th Terrace, Alachua) and replaced with another lock. The responding Alachua Police Department officer noted that the staff at the facility periodically inspect the units, and the suspect probably replaced the lock so staff would not notice that the unit had been burglarized.

Surveillance video at the storage facility reportedly captured a red Ford F-150 entering the facility at about 4:08 p.m. on August 1 with no large items in the bed; at about 4:47 p.m., the red truck left the property with a dishwasher, a workbench-style toolbox, and other items in the bed. These items were consistent with the items reported stolen by the victim, which were valued at over $1,800.

The responding officer reported that the truck is registered to Parlow’s wife.

Flock license plate readers reportedly showed that the truck drove northbound on U.S. Hwy 441 toward Fort White, and a Flock camera near the Santa Fe Bar reportedly captured the vehicle and showed the stolen property still in the bed of the truck.

A witness reported that at about 6:05 p.m., Parlow arrived at her house, which is near Parlow’s residence; she said Parlow tried to sell her a new dishwasher for $100, along with a toolbox. She said she did not purchase the items, but she reportedly gave the officer photographs and surveillance video that showed the red truck with the victim’s property in the bed.

Parlow has been charged with burglary of an unoccupied structure, grand theft, and dealing in stolen property. He has six felony convictions (non-violent) and three misdemeanor convictions (non-violent), and he has served two state prison sentences, with his most recent release in July 2026. Judge Meshon Rawls set bail at $150,000.
