Library District increases evening hours starting Oct. 4

The Alachua County Library District will increase evening hours at eight locations starting Monday, Oct. 4. The update will add hours at Archer, Cone Park, Hawthorne, High Springs, Library Partnership, Micanopy, Newberry, and Waldo branches.
New branch schedules are:
- Headquarters Library and Millhopper, Tower Road, Alachua, High Springs, Hawthorne, and Newberry branches: Monday-Friday 10 a.m.-6 p.m.; Saturday 10 a.m.-5 p.m.; Sunday noon-5 p.m.
- Cone Park and Library Partnership branches: Monday-Friday 10 a.m.-6 p.m.; Saturday 10 a.m.-5 p.m.; closed Sunday
- Archer, Micanopy, and Waldo branches: Tuesday-Friday 10 a.m.-6 p.m.; Saturday 10 a.m.-5 p.m.; closed Sunday and Monday
All Alachua County Library District branches are open for browsing, computer use, study room use, meeting room reservations, and printing services during all operating hours.
But how many masks do they require their patrons to wear? 😉
It sure would be nice if they looked for ways to reduce the library budget. I’ve been trying to figure out what “valuable” services the libraries provide beyond competing with businesses for entertainment dollars. Sure, the library provides “free” services to everyone, as long as he or she wears a CCP face diaper, but what is the real cost to tax payers? Oh wait, my tax bill tells me—$224 dollars. How could I better spend that money?

I guess “misinformation” is ok as long as the library agrees with it.
