Man arrested for attacking officers in Corry Village

Staff report

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Mark Luswabi Sseremb Glenn, 20, was arrested last night after he allegedly shoved two officers who were responding to a domestic violence call at Corry Village.

At about 9:45 p.m. on March 7, University of Florida Police Department officers responded to a call about a domestic violence incident at an apartment at Corry Village.

While officers were interviewing the victim of the domestic violence incident, Glenn allegedly walked out of the apartment and refused to obey commands from the officers to stop walking. When the officers tried to stop Glenn from leaving, he allegedly became combative, grabbed one of the officers, and shoved him to the ground against a parked car, causing the car alarm to go off.

Glenn also allegedly shoved a second officer, knocking his glasses off, and the arresting officer reported that it took five officers to subdue Glenn.

Post Miranda, Glenn reportedly admitted that he had shoved the victim of the domestic violence incident.

Glenn has been charged with domestic battery, resisting an officer with violence, and two counts of battery on a law enforcement officer. He has two misdemeanor convictions and was also arrested on a warrant for failure to appear at a hearing on an allegation that he violated his probation in a 2022 DUI case. Judge Donna Keim set bail at $250,000 on the new charges and ordered him held without bail until disposition of the violation of probation case.

Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

  • He is creating a positive change in our Gainesville and Alachua Community.

  • What’s he doing at Corry village UF housing, is he a UF student?

Has he been trespassed from going there now?

    Wasn’t their a
Brempaung (sp?) shot there by UPD some years ago?

  • Only 20, was he raised and groomed by our fair community or not? To shove others on a university campus is inexcusable, violates campus code of conduct. Will he continue being excused for *some* reason?

    • True, but he needs help regulating his anger, and learning to respect authority. Shame on him.
