Man arrested for knocking on motel door while nude

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – John Frederick Benz, 58, was arrested early Friday morning for allegedly knocking on the door of a woman’s room at the Baymont Inn while fully nude.
At about 5:14 a.m. on August 21, Alachua County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the Baymont Inn (6901 NW 4th Blvd.), where a woman said a naked man had knocked on her door.
Deputies reportedly found Benz in the parking lot, partially concealing himself with a rag but still fully nude. Benz reportedly said he had gone to throw away some trash and was locked out of his room; however, a deputy noted that Benz never contacted the front desk about being locked out of his room. A deputy also noted that Benz’s room was not close enough to the hotel trash receptacle that he could reasonably expect to walk there without being seen by anyone.
The victim reportedly said that Benz knocked on her door at about 5 a.m., fully nude, and asked her to meet him in his room; she said she notified the front desk about this and returned to her room, and on her way back, she saw Benz in the breezeway, still fully nude.
Benz has been charged with disturbing the peace. He has four felony convictions (non-violent) and nine misdemeanor convictions (non-violent); he was arrested in November 2024 for possession of less than 20 grams of marijuana and possession of Adderall and Xanax pills without a prescription, but that case can no longer be found in the court system. He is also on pre-trial release for a criminal traffic case in Lake County. Judge Adam Lee set bail at $20,000 on the new charge.

what kind of hotel is the Baymont Inn (6901 NW 4th Blvd.)? is this another meth motel? also you might want go back and look at this guy’s history in Alachua county this freaks got 6 cases going back to 86 all were dismissed or not prosected. Which is a bigger problem this guy’s been a Sbag for at least 40 yrs he’s got a revoked license in 92 which means he had to do something that’s not showing up to get a revoked license in the first place. So my point is this guy should’ve got a free ride on the prison bus to Lake Butler from 39th ave at least once in the last 40 yrs. but not thanks to the Peoples Republic of Alachua County Court system he’s not even a felon from what it looks like. This hairless freak’s mugshot creeps me out. too bad you can’t see historical mugshots for this freak over the years. I wonder if the readers of this fine website know this freak I bet they got some interesting stories. This freaks been around for a while he’s probably GHS class of 86
if you search this guy on facebook there’s a video from lady Lake PD of him getting pulled over for riding his motorcycle without a license. This guy just cant get right he’s probably been a S-head his whole life. I wonder if this guy’s family has money that might explain his 40 years of being a F-UP.

I think this freak has a DUI causing death to a unborn child in Suwannee County from 2019. so my 1st question is how the heck did he get out of that and why isn’t he in FLDOC? Which confirms my theory he or his family has money is the only way he’s getting out of that. The only other alternative is he’s snitching his azz off. If I find one more story on this freak the AC is going have to put on the payroll and send me a paycheck. I think the AC needs to ran a criminal history on this freak. there’s not telling what’s going pop up.

yeah this freak’s got more than a few mugshots in FL that are easier found , Alachua, Suwannee, Columbia, Marion, Lake, Polk, Marion. this freak gets around and I haven’t even tried out of state yet. I think there’s a bigger story here AC nobody get’s out of this much trouble unless they got money or knows stuff and is willing to snitch. you might want to do a criminal history nation wide at this point to see what pops up.

When I 1st saw this story my 1st impressions were just another typical GSSR hobo but I was wrong I let my biases and prejudices get the better half of me and I am sorry. This isn’t the usual Grace Market place hero we usually read about here that gets Diesel Therapy from some other state and bused to Grace this guy is a home grown freak from what I can tell probably graduated HS here in 86/87 in Alachua County. I know this freak hasn’t been to FLDOC because he doesn’t show up and that shouldn’t be possible I could see if have only had Alachua county cases but he’s a traveling menace to the state of FL and has some serious case in red counties like Suwannee that should’ve got him the all expenses vacation package to Lake Butler but didn’t. I call that a clue things that make you go Hmm. Has he done any time in the FEDS or other states? I don’t know I not that bored to try and find that out plus I am not getting paid here I just proving a free community service. But I am going out on a limb and say if he’s never done FED or state prison time anywhere its’ only because of 1 of 3 reasons “Money, Snitching or Both”

You need to do a real criminal history on this freak some how. Did you see all the mugshots he has from at least 7 different counties and I didn’t even look out of state or feds. also We were expecting a new headline or something because this guys is a menace to society. He will probably get out this too some how the only way that might not happen is if you do a real story on this freak and his full CH and all the stuff he’s managed to not go to FLDOC for.

So sick of weenie wagers, saw one recently at a closed elementary school. My grandson did see him & upon my return after taking him home,the pervert was gone. While driving I could not observe much of his description other than the obvious . They want shock value & for you to scream & run away. I am not that type of Grandmother, I will run toward him prepared to attack. So sick of it all.
