Man on drug offender probation charged with selling drugs near a school
Staff report
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Tevon Anthony Guidry, Jr., 27, was arrested on Tuesday for violating probation and has now been charged with five felonies related to distributing drugs near a school.
On September 16, Gainesville Police Department (GPD) received a tip that there were at least 10 semi-automatic rifles and “molly” at Guidry’s apartment. Since Guidry is on probation, the tip was transferred to Probation & Parole.
At about 8:30 a.m. on September 17, Probation & Parole conducted a search of the apartment at Georgetown Apartments (within 1,000 feet of Gainesville High School) and reportedly found baggies of marijuana and suspected narcotics, along with a digital scale and a rifle buttstock. Guidry was charged with violation of probation and arrested.
GPD officers obtained a search warrant for the apartment and reportedly found 116.3 grams of marijuana, 5.4 grams of methamphetamines in pill and rock form, 1.8 grams of Ecstasy pills, 11.8 grams of MDMA (molly), baggies, two digital scales, and cash in various denominations. A handgun was also reportedly found under the sofa, and the arrest report notes that charges related to the gun are pending.
Post Miranda, Guidry reportedly admitted that the narcotics and paraphernalia were his.
Guidry has been charged with four counts of selling a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school, possession of marijuana with intent to sell, maintaining a drug dwelling, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He has juvenile criminal convictions between 2011 and 2014, one adult felony conviction (violent), and four adult misdemeanor convictions (none violent). He was arrested in April for aggravated domestic battery and was sentenced on July 3 to five months in jail with credit for 83 days served, followed by three years of drug offender probation. Judge Kristine Van Vorst ordered him held without bail for violating probation, and Judge Meshon Rawls ordered him held on $305,000 bail.
Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
I understand giving a young person a chance but I feel that after that first chance you get caught again you should be held accountable. No dropped charges, no reduced charges and no sympathy. You proved you can’t abide by the law.

This guy and shovel guy ( https://alachuachronicle.com/gainesville-man-arrested-for-hitting-co-worker-in-the-head-with-a-shovel/ ) are the same age and they have very similar histories. Too bad neither of them learn to make the right decisions.
What a moron!
The real solution to making sure these types don’t do this again is to force feed them the drugs they’re selling/distributing, all at once. They should have to show their products are safe.
Hold the Narcan.
Pretty high bond may need “Mamala” Harris to bail him out.
He obviously doesn’t “get it” and as long as judges continue to hand out slap on the wrist punishment, why should he “get it?”
