Man on probation arrested for threatening to kill ex-girlfriend and her children

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Nathail Eugene Harrington Jr., 32, of Hawthorne, was arrested yesterday on a warrant for allegedly stalking a former girlfriend and threatening to kill her and her children.

The victim reported to an Alachua County Sheriff’s Deputy that she received “increasingly frequent” calls and text messages from Harrington on August 10, and although their relationship recently ended, he allegedly made several statements implying that they were still together; Harrington allegedly told the victim that he would kill her, her children, and himself if she ended the relationship. He allegedly added that he would go “live on Facebook” while he killed the victim, her children, and then himself.

The victim began recording the conversation, and a deputy reported that in the recordings, Harrington can be heard saying, “If I can’t have you, I don’t want nobody, and you ain’t gonna have nobody. Imma do it, bruh, then imma do it to myself,” referring to his earlier threats.

Because of their previous relationship, Harrington is familiar with the victim’s residence and schedule, and when she left her apartment at 3:15 a.m. on August 11, she called law enforcement to report that Harrington was standing on a sidewalk near her apartment and staring at her; she said Harrington fled before deputies arrived.

The victim told a deputy that she received over 200 missed phone calls from Harrington over 12 hours, and at one point, he threatened to “stay watching your house.” Referring to his threats to harm the victim, he allegedly wrote, “I have to do it.” The victim believed that Harrington had both the will and capability to kill her and her children.

Harrington, a designated violent felony offender of special concern, has been charged with aggravated stalking. He has 11 felony convictions (three violent) and nine misdemeanor convictions (non-violent), and he has served six state prison sentences, with his most recent release in April 2026. He was arrested in March 2025 for backing a stolen car into a patrol vehicle and then fleeing from deputies and is still on drug offender probation in that case after serving a 15-month prison sentence.

Judge Susan Miller-Jones ordered him held without bail pending a hearing on a motion from the State Attorney’s Office to hold him without bail until trial; if the judge denies the motion, bail will be set at that hearing.
