Millhopper Montessori School expands afterschool enrichment through new partnerships with Gainesville small businesses
Press release from Millhopper Montessori School
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Millhopper Montessori School (MMS) is strengthening ties with Gainesville’s small-business community by expanding its on-campus afterschool enrichment program through new local partnerships. Area instructors and organizations will lead athletic, cultural, and creative studios on campus, reflecting a growing collaboration between local businesses and the school community.
MMS has partnered with the Gator Junior Golf Association, bringing foundational golf instruction directly to students. Through age-appropriate lessons and portable training equipment, students build early skills, strengthen coordination, and foster a love for the game.
The Gainesville Circus Center will also join MMS weekly, offering a beginners acrobatics class for early childhood students. This movement-based studio supports balance, strength, and confidence while introducing young learners to circus arts in a developmentally appropriate format.
MMS is also partnering with French Fun and Food, a local cultural organization that introduces young children to French language and traditions through engaging, age-appropriate activities. Beginning at age two, students participate in songs, stories, movement, and simple cuisine experiences that support early language development and build familiarity with French culture.
The school is also continuing its collaboration with the Gainesville Dance Academy, bringing traditional Irish dance instruction to campus. Students learn foundational steps, rhythm, and performance skills while engaging with a vibrant cultural art form. The studio welcomes a wide age range and offers opportunities for students to build confidence, coordination, and stage readiness throughout the year.
Additionally, Shining Star Music Academy will provide private music lessons on campus, offering a variety of instrument choices for students. This personalized instruction is open to beginners as well as more advanced learners seeking to deepen their musical skills.
Together, these partnerships create a diverse lineup of enrichment opportunities that allow students to explore new interests, connect with Gainesville businesses, and engage with peers in meaningful ways. All studios take place on campus and are offered exclusively to Millhopper Montessori School students.
