Morningside Nature Center living history farm upgrades and partial closure

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Wild Spaces & Public Places Department and the Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs are excited to announce that construction will begin at Morningside Nature Center’s living history farm (3540 E. University Ave.) to install new livestock pens, lean-to structures, a new grazing area, and utility upgrades.
From June 2 through Sept. 30, the farm area will be closed to the public. All other areas of the nature center will be open during regular operating hours.
This project is designed to significantly enhance the quality of life for the animals, ensuring their well-being and sustainability. ESB Light, LLC will carry out the work at a cost of $125,000.
