Ocala man arrested for threatening to shoot victim at Rosa Parks Transfer Station
Staff report
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Jonathan Leigh Montalvo II, 25, of Ocala, was arrested last night at the Rosa Parks Transfer Station after allegedly using the victim’s phone to transfer cash to himself and then threatening to shoot the victim.
At about 9:15 p.m. on September 4, a Gainesville Police Department officer responded to the Rosa Parks Transfer Station (700 SE 3rd Street), where the victim said Montalvo asked to borrow his cell phone, and he gave it to him. He said Montalvo accessed his Cash App account and sent himself $9 without the victim’s permission; he then allegedly tried to make transfers of $500, $300, and $100 to himself, but the bank blocked the transactions.
The victim said that when he tried to see what Montalvo was doing on his phone, Montalvo quickly switched apps; when he got his phone back, he said, there was a text from Cash App notifying him that a new phone number had been added to his account.
The victim said he confronted Montalvo while recording a video, and Montalvo allegedly said he would get his gun from his purse and shoot the victim. He said Montalvo asked him whether he really wanted to die so young, so he fled out of fear for his safety. He said that when Montalvo picked up his purse and started walking back toward him, he called 911.
The officer reported that the victim was visibly distraught from the incident. The victim showed the officer his transaction history, which reportedly listed a $9 transfer to an account with the name “Janissa Montalvo.” The officer also reported seeing the three failed transactions.
When the officer asked Montalvo why he would send himself money via Cash App on the victim’s phone, Montalvo reportedly said he did not have Cash App; however, he showed the officer his cell phone, and the officer reported seeing the Cash App logo on his phone.
Montalvo reportedly said he had not sent any money, but he said the victim was “not street smart” because he let “a random person” use his phone.
At the jail, the officer asked Montalvo if he goes by another name, and Montalvo reportedly said he goes by “Janissa.”
Montalvo has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, attempted grand theft, and petit theft. His criminal history is unavailable; Judge Sheree Lancaster set bail at $425,000.
Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Anyone coming FROM Ocala TO G’ville looking for money has a very low IQ.
Just let a gay male prostitute use your phone at the bus station, what could go wrong.
Can’t comment.
