Pair arrested after officer sees man with ski mask and gun getting in car

Staff report

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Abby S. Farley, 33, and Isaiah Dominick Pace, 32, were arrested late last night after an officer reportedly saw Pace get into Farley’s car wearing a ski mask and carrying a gun.

At about 10:30 p.m. last night, Gainesville Police Department Officers responded to calls from multiple people about a man walking through apartment buildings at Woodland Park with a gun in his hand. The callers said the suspect was a black male wearing a ski mask; one caller said the man told them to go back inside their home.

Multiple units responded, and one caller who stayed on the phone told the dispatcher that the man had gotten into a car. The vehicle was stopped as it left the complex, and Pace, who was sitting behind the driver, was reportedly seen reaching down between his legs. When he was ordered out of the car, he reportedly said, “It’s a BB gun.”

A realistic-looking plastic pistol was reportedly found in the back pocket of the driver’s seat.

Post Miranda, Pace reportedly said he was visiting family who lived in the complex, but he was unable to provide any apartment numbers. He said the mask was a “COVID mask” that he wears all the time. He was reportedly unable to explain why he was wearing the mask and carrying a gun to visit family.

Farley was reportedly driving the car. Post Miranda, she reportedly said she went to Woodland Park to purchase “molly,” but when she got back to her car, she realized she had been sold table salt. She said she went to get Pace to help her either get her money back or get real drugs. She said the people who sold her the table salt did not answer the door when she returned, and when she and Pace saw patrol cars, they decided to leave.

A search of Farley incident to arrest reportedly produced a white powdery substance and a pipe with white residue; the powder tested positive for cocaine.

Farley was charged with driving without a valid license, possession of cocaine, and possession of drug paraphernalia. She has two felony convictions (none violent) and one misdemeanor conviction (non-violent). She has a pending sworn complaint for possession of drug paraphernalia. Judge Thomas Jaworski set bail at $9,000.

Pace was charged with loitering/prowling. He has six felony convictions (none violent) and 13 misdemeanor convictions (two violent). He has served three state prison sentences, with his most recent release on March 4, 2024. Judge Jaworski set bail at $5,000.

Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

  • Salt & Pepper there and they in need of a fix…
Since it was dark, they went to Woodland Park…
What they didn’t know was someone done called the PoPo…

Just can’t make this stuff up.

  • Good Gawd Jaworski. Pull your head out and get with the program. These bail amounts are pathetic.

    • Because anyone can have a bb gun and there was no evidence that any crime was committed using the bb gun…

      • Yeah!, he should be let out on his own recognizance! He’s ok! He said he “was wearing a Covid mask”!

Saco and her twin on the ACSB don’t have to explain why they wear a Covid mask on all the time!

He din do nuffin! no crime here!!

They will drop the charges on both of them.

    • Because of his lengthier, more violent criminal history…he has clearly already paid some of his debt to society during his previous 3 prison terms. (Insert eye roll)

  • This felon has been out for just a few weeks and given a low bond. 19 convictions and 3 prison sentences and he has learned nothing. Farley gets a higher bond for what? I hope he keeps playing with BB guns it makes it easier to prove a self defense stance against this Einstein. Farley is a lost cause hanging out with animals.

    • Thank God Tommy Boy is retiring soon. I hope the door locks behind him.

    • You insult animals sir. Animals do not behave like this man. Man is the only one who kills for fun, or money. Animals kill to eat.

  • Is this the same person shooting at apts. there the other night? No?

WTF do our gullible voters and taxpayers put up with these lawyer-designed housing projects?

  • “Pace was charged with loitering/prowling. He has six felony convictions (none violent) and 13 misdemeanor convictions (two violent). He has served three state prison sentences, with his most recent release on March 4, 2024. Judge Jaworski set bail at $5,000.”
This shows exactly why criminals have no fear of the law or the justice system. Unbelieve that this judge set bail so low. I sincerely hope that this criminal commits his next crime against Jaworski not some innocent citizen made to live with his rulings.
