Multiple law enforcement agencies are currently involved in an active investigation at the Butler Plaza Walmart (2900 SW 42nd Street).

At about 7:50 a.m., a call was received about suspicious activity, and witnesses reported hearing gunshots coming from a trailer/vehicle in the parking lot. The subject is barricaded in the trailer.

Officers established a perimeter and began evacuating surrounding businesses.

GPD has confirmed that shots have been fired, but there are no injuries.

Members of the public are asked to avoid the area.

  • Another place to watch for those plumes of smoke emanating from vehicles.
    Glad to be of assistance.

  • Will it be reported if it is a legal conceal carry and some frightened soul just happened to get a glimpse of the gun and called 911 in a tiffy? Odds are it will not. Let’s see.

  • Ya know, I’m going to miss such Saturdays and this type ‘excitement’ when this area becomes the utopia of Springs County. Mandatory worship of Brother John Birch’s philosophy will stop such shootings, doncha know?

  • Nothing to see here…move along. These are not the droids you are looking for….
