Press release from Rep. Kat Cammack

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, Rep. Kat Cammack announced that the Fiscal Year 2025 FEMA Assistance to Firefighters Grants (AFG), Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response (SAFER), and Fire Prevention and Safety (FP&S) grant opportunities are now open for applications.

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security and FEMA have made $648 million available nationwide to support firefighters and first responders through critical investments in equipment, staffing, training, and fire prevention initiatives.

The funding opportunities include:

The FY 2025 AFG, SAFER and FP&S application periods open Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. and close Monday, June 22, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. Late submissions will not be accepted.

“As the wife of a firefighter, I understand the critical nature of these grants. As demands on departments grow, staffing and resources haven’t kept up,” said Rep. Cammack. “I am proud to continue helping our departments in securing these vital programs.”

From 2021 to 2026, Rep. Cammack helped secure over $29 million for fire departments and first responders across Florida’s Third Congressional District.

Eligible applicants can review the full funding opportunities for all three programs on Grants.gov. Before applying, FEMA encourages applicants to review the various resources published on FEMA.gov which will help them develop strong applications.

  • How about doing something to stop the $1.8 billion slush fund for Jan 6 capital rioters and cop assaulters? These were traitors and if Kat and our senators don’t do everything they can to stop it, they are traitors too. Americans will be watching.

“WASHINGTON (AP) — The Trump administration announced Monday the creation of a nearly $1.8 billion fund to compensate allies of the Republican president who believe they have been unjustly investigated and prosecuted, an arrangement that Democrats and government watchdogs derided as “corrupt” and unconstitutional….

“This case is nothing but a racket designed to take $1.7 billion of taxpayer dollars out of the Treasury and pour it into a huge slush fund for Trump at DOJ to hand out to his private militia of insurrectionists, rioters, and white supremacists, including those who brutally beat police officers on January 6, 2021, and sycophant accomplices to his election stealing schemes,” Rep. Jamie Raskin, the top Democrat on the House Judiciary Committee, said in a statement.”

    • Oh I hate it when people respond to you. Trolls should just starve. But I vigorously support recompense for the protesters who were set up by the leftoids. After all the video evidence letting them in, opening the 10,000 lb doors, and escorting them into the building. I am so happy that they were pardoned and I am looking forward to the day that each one of them receives a huge amount of money.

Oh and Hey Kat – what ever happened to the nurses at the VA who turned away that critically ill patient who showed up at the wrong ER and he died a couple years ago? They retained their jobs and even were promoted and nothing happened to them, it is true.

    • Damn Jazzy things just aren’t going you’re way for the foreseeable future. Maybe volunteer and help put out the encampment fires so police can concentrate on getting these violent homeless people out of here before they burn down Alachua County.

    • “The possibility that people who ransacked the Capitol, smashing windows and fighting with the police, could get money from the same federal government they attacked was the latest head-spinning twist in the effort to rewrite the history of Jan. 6. At a congressional hearing on Tuesday, Todd Blanche, the acting attorney general, did not rule out violent rioters receiving payouts from the fund.”

So 2 pathetic traitors respond here in favor of taxpayers money going to their fellow traitors and felons some of whom were convicted of attacking capitol police. The felon in chief is paying off his militia in lieu of his next attack on America.

  • More feel good legislation. Not once has she proposed any bill to enhance our 2nd amendment.
Such as rein in the ATF. Nationwide constitutional carry. 99% of the time all she does is piggyback off someone’s else’s bill and acts like it is the greatest thing since sliced bread.
Her and Rutherford both need to go. Neither are looking out for the voters of Florida.

  • Anyone else think this smacks of self dealing aggrandizement?
We’d like Congress to grow a spine and stand up for our country.
No War without authorization. No ballroom boondoggle or Arch. No IRS concessions for Trump, his family or his businesses.

The filing states the IRS is “forever barred and precluded” from examining Trump, “related or affiliated individuals,” and his businesses — covering matters currently pending or that could be pending. The DOJ clarified: “This is only with respect to existing audits, not future.”
    What’s at stake financially
A long-running audit reported by the NYT in 2024 could have resulted in a bill of more than $100 million for Trump.

    • Smacks of? How about stinks of?

This guy is ripping off the country, enriching himself by billions, paying off cronies, and punishing enemies with law suits and BS investigations and the GOP eats it up , doing nothing, surrendering their powers as if being elected was just for the cool stationary. Meanwhile GOP voters are too stupid to smell it after 3 elections and thousands of days of obvious lies. Look at most of the responses on this site and you get how conmen get rich.
