Staff report

WALDO, Fla. – On Saturday at 4:46 p.m., crews from Alachua County Fire Rescue, Melrose Fire Department, and Windsor Fire Department responded to an RV fire on U.S. Hwy 301, just south of the city of Waldo.

When the first engine arrived, the RV’s occupant had already made it out safely, and the RV and passenger vehicle were fully involved in flames. Crews quickly brought the fire under control, but the vehicles were a complete loss.

The northbound lanes of U.S. Hwy 301 were closed while crews fought the fire and cleaned up the area.

    • LOL, as a native Floridian I can’t help it, these folks, especially the ones who move here for good, have ruined our once lovely, pristine state.

    • Where does it state that the RV belongs to an out of state resident? A lot of Floridians have RVs.

      • Oh it didn’t say it was out of state. But as a native I take every opportunity to diss out of state invaders.

  • How dare they call this a “complete loss.”

A little duct tape and a can of spray paint and it will be as good as new.
