SF Achieve holds Orientation and Information Session for parents and students

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Santa Fe College will be hosting a student and parent information session and orientation for Alachua County and Bradford County public high school students and their families interested in the college’s SF Achieve program. The information session will be held Monday, July 31, from 6 until 7 p.m. at SF’s Blount Hall, 530 W. University Avenue in Gainesville.
SF Achieve offers academic coaching and mentoring to area students to prepare them for college. Students in the SF Achieve program who enroll at SF will receive a stipend for textbooks and are eligible for scholarships to help pay for up to 60 credit hours. Information shared in this session will provide details about the program components, benefits, and how to sign up.
Last fall, the college welcomed the first group of approximately 200 SF Achieve Scholars to the college, and there are more than 2,000 current high school students who have signed up for the SF Achieve program and are receiving academic support and career exploration information from SF Achieve mentors.
Current SF Achieve Scholars have said that SF Achieve prepares them for college, especially in areas of time management, tips for effective studying, and financial budgeting.
