Sira–Crisis Pregnancy Center of Gainesville purchases former Planned Parenthood building

Press release from Sira–Crisis Pregnancy Center of Gainesville, Inc.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – On September 10, 2026, Sira–Crisis Pregnancy Center of Gainesville, Inc. became the owner of the Planned Parenthood building at 914 NW 13th Street in Gainesville. Sira has been serving next door to Planned Parenthood since 1997. It began officially as Crisis Pregnancy Center of Gainesville, Inc. in 1974 and operated as Women’s Resource and Medical Clinic until May 2016, when it became Sira to reflect expanded support for men.

The faith-based nonprofit has grown in the last few years in services, referrals, and staff. The services include pregnancy and STI testing, ultrasounds, life skills classes with material rewards, exclusive women’s wellness physicals, as well as post-abortion healing classes. The addition of the building will provide much-needed extra space.

In the last five years, 2,786 unique clients have been served with 7,237 visits. All services are at no cost to the clients. Sira will continue to do this, as it has since its inception. This practice and policy is possible because of the financial support and investment of individuals, businesses, churches, and other organizations.
