UF Men’s Tennis: Florida Tabbed as New No. 1 in ITA Rankings

Gators rewarded for impressive 12-match winning streak

On a 12-match winning streak that includes victories over seven current top-15 programs, the Florida men’s tennis team was tabbed as the new No. 1 team in the Oracle/ITA Division I Rankings on Tuesday.

The Gators are 15-1 overall and 9-0 in the Southeastern Conference with three regular season matches left to play. Of note, UF has swept its last four opponents by a score of 7-0.

Florida has wins over No. 3 Tennessee, No. 6 Texas A&M, No. 8 TCU, No. 9 Ole Miss, No. 11 Georgia, No. 13 UCF, and No. 15 Mississippi State. Its only loss came at No. 7 Texas, 4-3, in a delay-filled match in January.

The ITA also released new singles and doubles rankings on Tuesday.

UF will travel to Vanderbilt on Friday at noon ET and is then scheduled to host Kentucky on Sunday at noon ET in the final regular season home match this season.
