There ain’t no way that Janine Plavac lost this race. The fix was in.
She technically has not. She will be in a November run off. The winnner in this race needs to win 50% +1. Since no candidate did so, the top two go to a run off. This is not the case in all races. I actually had to check myself as a reminder.
I am disappointed with your comment of saying it must be fixed because Janine Plavac did not win. This does not help her gain votes.Obviously you are friends with her, to take that hard and inappropriate stance. You just accused the county of fixing a vote. Wow!
Now, many in the ACPS system have worked with her and know her. She likes to run the show. She announced early on in a board meeting that she is a conservative Republican. I believe she was reminded by another board member that it was inappropriate for her to share that information, but she already put it out there.This may be a nonpartisan vote but she made it clear where she stands! So now we see where the votes for lopez go! Whether she wins or does not win accusations of rigging are not acceptable. Hunter won by 11% even with lopez in the running!
“She likes to run the show.” Therein is the underlying problem with her. She needs to stay in her lane—or didn’t they teach that years ago when she was in school?
I can’t say I am surprised. This town has so much potential but the “lost” keep voting in idiots. As I say to myself most days, ” I’m just passing through!”

Nothing changed. Carry on for the upcoming years with wardy, rockwell, certain, and willits leading the sinking ships.
Anyone else notice the above? They all identify as ‘No Party Affiliation.’ Anyone with even half a brain and a lick of common sense knows they’re all $0ci@li$t$.
That makes it easier to understand why they have difficulty identifying the difference between a 🚹&🚺. That may also explain why a majority of the ‘educated’ in Alachua County and Gainesville voted for them.
I guess Certain and Rockwell got one thing right—the East side really is suffering from an educational equity deficit.

This usually indicates these races are classified as non-partisan by law regardless of the candidates’ personal registration .
They vote for reparations and free stuff with no concern for the rest of us who pay for their free $hit.
Our community is still doomed. Voters chose to “stay the course” because only a minority of registered voters voted. Mostly those on the payroll or on the take of gov’t fraud.

Ms Donna Bradbrook was an excellent candidate and would have undoubtedly done an excellent job as a commissioner.
In that spirit might I suggest the folks in High Springs get busy and make her an offer for City Manager position and then support her in cleaning up the situation there.
I’d hate to lose her knowledge and competence that greatly benefits our community.

27.16 voter turnout. That is disgusting. There is no to blame but yourself if you didn’t vote. Non voters let Certain win, that all the county needs is DSA racist.
What an abysmal turnout. For all the moaning and b@tching about wanting change, looks like most citizens of Alachua County couldn’t even be bothered to cast a vote.
My thoughts exactly. People love to complain about local government, but we had the opportunity to change that – one county commission seat and two school board seats and we couldn’t even get 1/3 of the voters to show up. This is pathetic!
At least Nathan Crabbe now will have a salary, insurance and pension.
At least we had the option of not paying for the idiocy of Crabbe and Cunningham while they were associated with the Sun. Now we are legally required to pay Crabbe and all his bad ideas come with him.
