Woman arrested after allegedly pulling a gun from her purse in University Avenue bar

Omega Charleeta Brown, 26, was arrested early this morning after allegedly pulling a gun from her purse in a University Avenue bar and threatening two people.

At about 12:35 a.m. on March 20, a woman reported to police that she had gotten into an argument with Brown after they accidentally bumped into each other in a bar at 1716 W. University Avenue. The victim reported that Brown partially pulled a handgun from her purse and said, “You don’t know what I can do.”

A bouncer at the bar witnessed the altercation and asked Brown to leave the bar. Outside on the sidewalk, Brown allegedly pulled the gun out of her purse and pointed it at the bouncer, saying, “I remember faces. I f*ing kill you.” The bouncer reported that Brown went to a black Silverado and put her purse and the gun in the vehicle.

When a Gainesville Police Department officer responded, he found a 9mm handgun in the truck and also reported that Brown has a valid Georgia concealed weapons permit.

A witness confirmed that Brown had pointed a gun at the bouncer, with her finger on the trigger. Another witness reported hearing her say, “I have a concealed weapons permit, you wanna see it?” while waving and pointing a gun toward the bouncer.
