Press release from the Junior League of Gainesville
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The 10th Annual Amazing Give, hosted by The Junior League of Gainesville, is set to unite the community in an inspiring day of generosity on April 30. This community-wide day of giving will bring together 120 nonprofit organizations serving Gainesville and North Central Florida for 12 hours of giving, with the collective goal of raising $1.2 million.
From 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., donors are invited to visit TheAmazingGive.org to contribute to causes they care about, ranging from child education and healthcare to animal welfare & homelessness & housing, to the arts, environment, and social services. Every donation, no matter the size, helps strengthen the region and uplift the vital work of these local nonprofits.
“As we celebrate 10 years of The Amazing Give, we’re incredibly proud of the impact this event has had on our community,” said Melissa Zawada, President. “Hosted by The Junior League of Gainesville, this initiative reflects our ongoing commitment to volunteerism and supporting the nonprofits that serve North Central Florida & make Gainesville great! This year’s participation and goal highlight the generosity and spirit of our community; nearly 80% of these nonprofits raise more this day than any other day of the year, and the Amazing Give is an essential part of both their fundraising and communication efforts.”
Throughout the 12-hour giving period, participating nonprofits will engage donors through storytelling, social media campaigns, and a streamable live show, creating an energetic and inspiring atmosphere. Special incentives, matching gifts, and prizes will further amplify individual donations and encourage friendly competition and creativity among organizations.
Since its inception, The Amazing Give has raised over $13 million dollars to support local nonprofits, strengthening services and programs that directly benefit the community. The 10th annual event aims to build on that legacy and set a new standard for collective giving.
Community members are encouraged to plan their giving in advance, follow their favorite nonprofits on social media, and help spread the word using the hashtag #TheAmazingGive
