GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated, Delta Sigma Zeta Chapter, in partnership with Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Incorporated, and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated, will host the 10th Annual “Treat Her Like a Lady” Workshop on Saturday, May 16, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at First Missionary Baptist Church, 1515 SE 15th Street, Gainesville, Florida.

This year’s theme, “Back to the Basics,” focuses on helping youth build confidence, understand their personal power, and define a positive path forward as they navigate adolescence and young adulthood.

The free workshop is open to youth ages 12–18 (grades 6–12) and is designed to equip participants with the knowledge, tools, and confidence needed to make healthy and responsible decisions. Since its inception, the program has positively impacted more than 600 youth in the Greater Gainesville community, providing meaningful guidance during a critical stage of personal development.

Participants will engage in interactive sessions addressing key topics including:

  • Building self-confidence
  • Managing friendships and peer relationships
  • Navigating social media influences
  • Learning about abuse prevention tactics, self-love, and personal responsibility

The event will feature youth guest speakers Briana Robinson and Cayden Parker, who will share insights and encouragement designed to inspire young people to lead with confidence, integrity, and purpose.

“Our goal is to create a safe and enriching environment where youth can grow emotionally, socially, and personally,” said Yvette Carter, Delta Sigma Zeta chapter president. “Through programs like Treat Her Like a Lady, we aim to empower young people with the tools they need to make virtuous decisions and successfully navigate the challenges of adolescence.”

Attendees will receive continental breakfast and lunch, and all workshop activities are provided free of charge to ensure accessibility for youth across the community.

The Treat Her Like a Lady initiative reflects a longstanding commitment by the participating organizations to invest in youth development, leadership, and community empowerment. By bringing together community leaders, mentors, and youth advocates, the program continues to foster positive outcomes for the next generation.

Community partners and sponsors play a critical role in supporting the success of the event.
